Making a Difference
The prime objective of the Walk Free hike from John o' Groats to Lands End is to raise money for The A21 Campaign and Watoto Child Care Ministries – Gulu Project. A21 is committed to the restoration of the lives of countless women and children trafficked and sold for sexual exploitation in Europe. Watoto – Gulu Project is committed to restoring the lives of children who were forced to be child soldiers in Gulu, Uganda during the civil war.
At the end of our hike we would like to be able to donate a minimum of £5,000 (split between the causes), and for that we need all the help we can get. Over our months of planning we've come up with some great ways everyone can get involved in Walk Free…
What can you do to help?
-
Donate:
Make a donation to Walk Free in aid of A21 and Watoto – Gulu Project.
-
Raise Awareness:
Simply forward a link to our website and tell your family and friends about our hike, and more importantly why we are doing it.
-
Food and Shelter:
If you live near the route we are taking and can offer us dinner, bed (or floor), and breakfast, please get in touch. We can use our own sleeping bags if required.
Alternatively, if you don't live near the route but you would like to buy us dinner (£10 could feed us for a day), please get in touch.
-
Join Us:
Do you have a free day, weekend, or week? Why not walk with us? We'd love to have company.
If you'd like to join us on our adventure, we suggest you keep up-to-date with our route and get in touch with us. We will do our best to keep to our walking schedule; however we will be reviewing the hike on a weekly basis, so you might need to be a little flexible with time or location. We look forward to some hiking together.
